Amsterdam Island

Amsterdam Island is 2725/1693 km/mi WSW of Tahiti.

There were two Amsterdam Islands. For the references in Bligh's Voyage Chap. 4 and the Logbook for Jul 28, 1788, he was referring to Amsterdam/St. Paul in the Indian Ocean.

The one shown here is Tongatapu (Tongataboo), the main island of the Kingdom of Tonga.
