H M Ship Providence from Jamaica towards [England – 1793]

Remarks Friday July 26th

 1 pm: Light breeze and fine weather – Spoke the Antelope – set starboard steering sails

 4 pm: Ditto Weather

 5 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual

 7 pm: Exercised great guns & small Arms

 8 pm: Moderate breeze & thick hazy weather with drizling rain

12 mid: Ditto Weather

 4 am: Ditto Weather – Assistant, Antelope Thomas & Cleminson in company

 6 am: Served thick portable soup gruel for breakfast hauled in the Steering Sails

 8 am: Ditto Weather – cleaned below and aired with fires

 9 am: Served Krout as usual and Portable Soup in the Pease for dinner

10 am: At 10 Squally with Rain. In Top Gallant Sails – Opened a Cask of Beef no 1411 contents 66 double Pieces – And a Cask of Pork No 1007 contents 120 double Pieces – At Noon moderate breezes & thick rainy weather – vessels in Company as before
