September 25th

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and fair weather – saw Bonettas and Gannet Boobies – Tropic birds flying fish &c

 3 pm: Passed patches of brown Scum

 4 pm: Cloudy – in Lower Steering Sails

 5 pm: Fresh breezes – worked the Pumps

 7 pm: Shortened Sail in 2d Reefs – Spoke the Assistant

10 pm: Caught a Brown Boobie – moderate & fair

12 mid: Dew falling – Clear weather

 1 am: Assistant leading ahead with a light

 5 am: Made all Sail

 6 am: Served thick portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast

 8 am: Hazy – cleaned below – People employed shifting and worming the Cable where rubbed

10 am: Served Krout and Vinegar – Saw a Curlew Porpoises and flying fish

12 noon: Fresh breezes and fair weather with haze Assistant leading
   Latitude Observed 8°..53′..16″ South
