Tobin's Providence Logbook Feb 27, 1792

H M Ship Providence from Adventure Bay Van Diemens [Land towards Otaheite in 1792]

Monday February 27th

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes and cloudy weather

 3 pm: Set Steering Sails

 8 pm: Hauled in the Steering Sails

12 mid: Moderate breezes and cloudy

 1 am: Kept a fire in the Galley all night

 3 am: Ditto Weather – Out 1st Reefs and set the Lower and Fore Top Mast Steering Sails

 5 am: Set Top Gallant Steering Sails

 6 am: Scrubbed the Hamock cloths

 8 am: Light Breezes and cloudy – Served thick Gruel and portable Soup for Breakfast and Krout and wort as usual

 9 am: A Long swell from the SW Quarter

10 am: Washed the Ship fore and aft & aired with fires

11 am: Served Vinegar

12 noon: At Noon light Breezes and cloudy, the Pl had Borecole, Portable Soup, and Thick Gruel for Dinner
