Bond's Providence Logbook Jul 21, 1793

Remarks &c 21st [sic] Sunday 21st July 1793

 1 pm: Fresh gale and fair weather with haze. People employed mending their Clothes.

 4 pm: Ditto Weather

 6 pm: Worked the Pumps. Handed Main sail and in 1st. & 2nd. reefs Fore Top sail

 8 pm: Fresh gales and cloudy with haze.

 9 pm: Squally shortened sail.

10 pm: Made sail again

11 pm: Squally with rain.

12 mid: Fresh gales and cloudy weather

 2 am: Light squalls

 4 am: Fresh gales and dark gloomy weather with drops of rain – Assistant, Antelope, and Thomas in company – Clementson 4 or 5 miles astern.

 7 am: Saw Sheerwaters. Served usual breakfast

 8 am: Fresh gales and fair with haze – set the Main royalo. Saw Porpoises – Cleaned below, Mustered in Divisions, and Captain Bligh read prayers to the Watch below. Broached a puncheon of Spruce Beer

12 noon: Fresh gales and cloudy with thick haze, the sun seldom seen. Assistant, Antelope Thomas, and Clementson in company.
   Latitude Observed 46°·03′ North.
