Bond's Providence Logbook Nov 30, 1792

Remarks &c from Timor towards St. Helena 30th November 1792

 1 pm: Strong gales and fair – Sailmakers employed repairing the Top Gallant Sails – People picking Oakum

 3 pm: Squally in 3rd reef Main Top Sail

 4 pm: Carried away the strop of the starboard Main Top Sail Sheet Block, and one of the Futtock Shrouds – down Main Top Sail and fitted new ones – set the Top Sail again – worked the Pumps

 7 pm: Strong gales and squally – struck Top Gallant Masts

11 pm: Squally – at times clear weather – Lee way about 1½ points

 3 am: Ditto Weather

 4 am: Wore Ship – Strong gales and fine weather

 6 am: Swayed up Top Gallant Masts, out 3rd reef Top Sails and set the Jib and Main Top Mast Staysails – Saw Pintada birds and Sheerwaters

 8 am: Fine weather and a fresh steady gale. Served Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast. Sailmakers as before – loosed small sails to dry. Carpenters painting the Companion &c. and seamen fitting spare Blocks. Opened a Cask of Otaheitean Pork. Portable Soup in the Pease for Dinner – Out 2nd reef Fore and Main Top Sails. A pretty good swell – the Ship making about ½ a point Lee way

12 noon: Strong breezes and fair weather the Assistant in company – Sick List 8 in number.
