Bond's Providence Logbook Nov 19, 1792

Remarks &c Monday 19th November 1792

 1 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather

 3 pm: Saw Pintada birds and very large flocks of Sheerwaters

 4 pm: In steering sails & Top Gallant Sails to wait for the Assistant about 3 or 4 miles astern

 6 pm: In 1st reef Top Sails

 8 pm: Dark sky to the westward.

 9 pm: Set Top Gallant Sails & Fore Top Mast steering sails

11 pm: Squally

12 mid: Fresh gales and cloudy weather

 2 am: Fresh breezes and thick cloudy weather

 3 am: Light rain

 5 am: Out 1st reef Top Sails and made all sail – the Brig about ½ a mile ahead.

 7 am: Served the usual Breakfast

 8 am: Fresh breezes – Shortened sail for the Assistant a mile & ½ astern.

10 am: Spoke the Assistant and made sail again. Saw a Spermaceti Whale (supposed to be) in the act of copulation – Employed picking Oakum, making a Net for the Coach Box, and new fangling the Quarter Deck Netting, [Joors?], Mats, &c. Served Portable Soup, Borecole & Oatmeal Soup for Dinner – Made sail after ye Assistant

12 noon: Fresh breezes and thick cloudy weather
