1 pm: Fresh gales and cloudy weather
2 pm: Carpenters employed Caulking the Upper Deck.
5 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual – Set the Main Top Gallant Sail
8 pm: Cloudy weather
9 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather squally at times – Made and shortened sail occasionally for the Brig to keep in her station
1 am: Out 3rd reef Fore Top Sail and set the Fore Top Gallant Sail
3 am: At times light breezes at others Moderate breezes
4 am: Moderate breezes and cloudy with a head sea – Out 2nd reef Top Sails
6 am: Saw Albatrosses and Sheerwaters – Served the usual Breakfast
8 am: Light breezes and cloudy – washed the Gun Orlop and Cockpit Decks and aired with Fires – cleaned the cabins &c in the Fore Cockpit and washed with hot water to kill Cockroaches – Out 1st reef and set steering sails foreward.
12 noon: Moderate breezes and fine weather Assistant in company – Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer
– Gunners employed scraping and blacking the Quarter Decks Guns &c
