Bond's Providence Logbook Nov 16, 1792

Remarks &c from Timor towards St. Helena 16th November 1792

 1 pm: Light airs and fine weather Swell from ye SW. Hauled in the steering sails

 4 pm: Cloudy – saw a Cary's Chicken, Albecore, Albatrosses and Sheerwaters – Carpenters caulking the Quick work on ye Quarter Deck – worked the Pumps as usual

 7 pm: In 1st reef Top Sails

 8 pm: Dark cloudy weather

10 pm: Much Lightning to the NW.

12 mid: Light airs

 1 am: Squally, in [?] Sails

 3 am: Moderate breezes and clear weather

 4 am: Fresh breezes and cloudy.

 5 am: At 5 Squally, int 2nd & 3rd reefs Topsails. Set the Main sail.

 7 am: Out 3rd reefs Top Sails and Wore Ship – Served the usual Breakfast of Portable Soup Gruel.

 8 am: At 8 Strong squalls – up Mainsail, and clewed up the Topsails – ¼ past fresh breezes and cloudy, made sail again – Cleaned below and aired with Fires. Caught an Albecore about 60 pounds – Saw Albatrosses and Sheerwaters – Carpenters employed as before – Served Portable Soup in ye Pease for Dinner.

12 noon: Fresh gales and fair weather Assistant in company.
   Latitude Observed 29°:45′·30″ South
