Bond's Providence Logbook Nov 15, 1792

Remarks &c Thursday 15th November 1792

 1 pm: Calm and fine weather

 2 pm: Carpenters caulkinng the upper Deck

 3 pm: At a [3] Light breezes sprung up – saw Albatrosses and Sheerwaters

 4 pm: Light breezes – a swell from the westward.

 6 pm: Cloudy

 7 pm: At 7 in 1 reef Top Sails

 8 pm: Moderate breezes and cloudy weather

10 pm: Set Fore & Fore Top Mast steering sails – shewed a False fire to the Brig, that kep to the southward of her course and got wide on our larboard bow – she answered it and bore down into her station

 2 am: In lower steering sail

 4 am: Moderate breezes and fine weather – At ½ past 4 out reef and set all sail – Saw Albacores, Albatrosses & Sheerwaters.

 7 am: Served the usual breakfast of Portable Soup Gruel.

 9 am: Clewed up the Fore Top Sail to mend it, and new lashed on the Tye Block. – Got every thing out of the Cockpit, and Cabins there. Washed well with hot water to kill Cockroaches. Aired with a good fire in Brodie's stove – Carpenters employed caulking the Quick work on the Quarter Deck. Gunners making Wads &c – Exercised the Marines at small Arms – Served out Sour Krout, and broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer
