Bond's Providence Logbook Nov 1, 1792

Remarks &c Thursday 1st November 1792

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and fine weather broached a cask of Otaheite Pork which continued to be exceeding good.

 3 pm: Sailmakers employed putting another reef in the Mizen top sail

 6 pm: Hazy weather saw a Tropic bird

 7 pm: In 1st reef Top Sails and kept the Fore & Fore Top Mast Steering sails set – the others with the Spanker & spritsail Top Sail were taken in – Assistant a head in her station

12 mid: Fine weather – Made and shortened sail occasionally during the night for the Assistant to keep in her station.

 2 am: Squally with light rain; in Fore & Fore Top Mast steering sails

 4 am: Dark Cloudy weather apparently squally

 5 am: Made all sail – Scrubbed the Hammocks of the Starboard Watch – Saw many Flying fish, and a Tropic bird.

 8 am: Cloudy. out 1st reef Fore & Main Topsails – Served the usual Breakfast of thick Portable Soup Gruel

 9 am: Aired with Fires and clean swept below. Exercised Great Guns and Small Arms – Sailmakers employed about the Mizen Top Sail and some hands making Points & Sennet – Served Sour Krout to ye People.

12 noon: Cloudy & haze weather – Served Slops to the Ships company to day.
   Latitude Observed 20°·24′ South.
