4 pm: Extremes of Island No. 2 from S33°W to S53W off shore 3 or 4 leagues – Rocky Isles from S34W to S84W – At 6 extremes of No. 2 from S45W to S78W off shore about 3 leagues – Rocky Isles No. 1 S87W, No. 2, N87W, No. 3 N74W – No. 4 N68W. – Dark Cloudy weather
9 pm: Small Rain
12 mid: Thick rainy weather shortened sail for the Assistant she keeping astern the whole Watch
4 am: Squally, in 1 reefs Fore & Mizen Topsails
6 am: Cloudy weather out reefs – Land seen from NWbW to NbE – Bore away & set Fore Top Mast Steering Sail. Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast
8 am: Dark cloudy weather Land from NWbW to NbW – High Mountain N58W no other part distinct
10 am: Washed below and aired with Fires – Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer – People employed washing and mending their clothes – Extremes of Island No. 3 from N22°W to N10E distinct High Mountain N16W distant off shore 4 or 5 leagues. Small Island N15E – East land in sight NEbN
12 noon: Squally & thick rainy weather Assistant in company

N.B. What is called Island No. 3 is not absolutely known to be distinct from that of No. 2 it [being?] very high and [?] extremity which seen in the morning, lost in the thick Clouds
