Bond's Providence Logbook May 19, 1792

Remarks &c 19th May 1792

 1 pm: Light airs and thick cloudy weather

 2 pm: Squally with rain

 4 pm: Cloudy. Sent some empty casks to the Tent.

 6 pm: Brought on board and confined an Indian for throwing stones and being insolent to the Officer & people who were 2 days before watering

 8 pm: Light airs and cloudy

12 mid: Calm and cloudy with some flashes of Lightning – At 1 lowered the boats and fired 2 Muskets at an Indian who attempted to rob the ship (he made off with a sheet taken from my bed when asleep, thro' the Port – some person in the ship was accessary to the theft as the sash on the inside was bolted at night, and I slept with my Cabin door open) – At 4 constant rain with some distant claps of thunder – Sent a party to hale the seine who return in 4 hours with about 280 pounds of fish, mostly Cavallies. – Served 2 pounds per man to the ships company & sent the remainder on board the Assistant.

11 am: received a moderate supply of Pigs & fruit – People employed washing and mending their clothes: Carpenters still about the Launch – served Vinegar to ye Crew

12 noon: At Noon Light breezes and fair weather
