Bond's Providence Logbook Mar 23, 1792

Remarks &c Friday 23rd March 1792

 1 pm: Fresh breezes and fair weather – saw a Squid, some Albatrosses and Sheerwaters.

 4 pm: Unbent the old and bent the new Main Sail A swell from the SW quarter

 6 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual – In Top Gallant Sails and 2nd reef Top Sails

10 pm: In 3rd reef Fore Top Sail – Kept a Fire in the Galley all night to air the ship. At 11 Fresh breezes and frequent light squalls, in 3rd reef Main Top Sail

 1 am: A few Blubbers to be seen

 4 am: Dark cloudy weather with squalls.

 6 am: Moderate breezes and fine weather out all reefs and made sail – Washed all the Decks and aired with Fires – The usual breakfast of thick Gruel &c and Sweet Wort and Krout served out at ½ past 10 with Borecole & Portable Soup in the Pease for Dinner – Unbent the new and bent the old Jibb – People employed washing their Cloaths

12 noon: At Noon Moderate breezes and fair weather Assistant in company. Sailmakers repairing sails. Saw Sheerweaters & Mother Cary's Chicken but few Albatrosses.
