Bond's Providence Logbook Mar 13, 1792

Remarks &c Tuesday 13th March 1792

 1 pm: Light breezes and foggy weather out 1st reef Mizen Top Sail

 4 pm: Saw Albatrosses, Silver birds, some rock Weed covered with Barnacles, and a whale of the Fin-back species. Worked the Pumps as usual – Fires all night to dry and air the ship

 8 pm: Light breezes and hazy shortened sail occasionally for the Assistant

12 mid: Fresh breezes and cloudy in Fore Top Gallant Sail

 4 am: Saw several Black-fish.

 5 am: Found the Main Top Mast Trestle trees broke. In Main Top Gallant sails and sent down the Yard. Lashed the heel of the Top Gallant Mast to the Top Mast Head.

 7 am: Served the usual Breakfast.

 8 am: Cleaned below and aired with Fires – Served Sour Krout and Sweet Wort to the ships company.

10 am: Saw several patches of Rock Weed – Sailmakers repairing the old Mizen Top Sail.

12 noon: Fresh breezes and thick misty weather Assistant in company
   No Observation
