Bond's Providence Logbook Mar 10, 1792

Remarks &c towards Otaheite 10th March 1792

 1 pm: Light airs, inclinable to Calm. Out Cutter and sent her for Lientenant Portlock.

 4 pm: An increasing breeze with fine open cloudy weather Saw Cape Hens, a few Albatrosses, and Silver birds

 7 pm: Shortened Sail and sent the boat with Lieutenant Portlock to the Assistant – Hove to, in boat; fill and made sail – Worked the Pumps

 9 pm: Moderate breezes and fair weather.

10 pm: Fires in all night to air the ship

11 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy; in Fore Top Gallant Sail & 1st reef Top Sails

12 mid: Cloudy weather

 4 am: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather saw several Albatrosses

 6 am: In Main Top Gallant Sail – Served the usual Breakfast of Portable Soup Gruel.

 8 am: Fresh Gale and cloudy weather in 3rd reef Fore & 2nd reef Main Top Sail Cleaned below and aired with Fires in Brodie's Stoves as usual.

10 am: Tacked ship – Hazy weather – Served Sour Krout and Sweet Wort. Saw a flock of Albatrosses on the water, a large patch of Rock Weed and a Cape Hen – Sailmakerrs &c employed as occasion requires

12 noon: Fresh Gale and cloudy weather Assistant in company
