Bond's Providence Logbook Jan 17, 1792

Remarks &c Tuesday 17th January 1792

 1 pm: Moderate and fair weather. Saw Albatrosses, Sheerwater, Petterals and a Seal.

 4 pm: Carpenters employed on the small Cutter

 7 pm: Spoke the Assistant and found all well on board.

 8 pm: Freshened the well with water as usual.

 9 pm: Shortened sail for the night.

11 pm: Shortened for the Assistant.

 4 am: Strong breezes and cloudy – made all sail

 6 am: Passed a flock of birds and a few Pintada birds

 8 am: Moderate breezes with thick hazy weather and drizzling rain. Aired ship with fires; served Sweet Wort & Sour Crout – A hot Breakfast as yesterday

11 am: In 1st reefs & steering sails. Fitted a new Tye block on Fore Top Sail Yard for the old one which was carried away – Assistant in company

12 noon: Moderate and cloudy, but more clear than morning
